Pinned Tab Sets is designed to work entirely on your device. It does not collect, transmit, or sell personal data. The extension only interacts with your browser’s tabs and local/sync storage to save and restore your pinned tabs.
What data is stored (locally or in browser sync)
- Saved Sets: set name, list of pinned tab URLs, and the “autoload” flag.
- Local Preferences: sort order of sets, dark mode preference, and the currently active set per window (for correct highlighting in the popup).
This information is stored using your browser’s extension storage. If you enable browser sync, your saved sets can sync across your own browsers under your account.
We do not collect
- No analytics or telemetry
- No browsing history collection (beyond the pinned tab URLs you explicitly save in a set)
- No personal account information
- No data sent to external servers
How the extension uses permissions
- Tabs: to read the URLs of your currently pinned tabs when you choose Save current pinned tabs, and to open or pin tabs when you Load a set.
- Storage: to keep your sets and preferences.
Import/Export
You can export your saved sets to a JSON file and import them later. Import/Export runs locally in your browser. Files are not uploaded anywhere by this extension.
Data retention & control
- Your data remains until you delete sets, reset preferences, or uninstall the extension.
- Removing the extension will delete its local storage. If you used browser sync, copies may remain in your account’s sync data per your browser’s policies.
