Overview

Linkofy provides a customizable start page available as a web application and as browser extensions for Google Chrome, Microsoft Edge, and Mozilla Firefox. We respect your privacy and are committed to handling your information responsibly.

What We Collect

  • No personal data is collected.
  • We do not collect, transmit, or sell any user-identifiable information.
  • We do not track your browsing history across websites.

Local Settings & Storage

Linkofy saves your layout preferences (e.g., added sections, their order, sizes, and other UI options) locally on your device:

  • Web App: stored in the browser (e.g., localStorage/IndexedDB).
  • Browser Extensions (Chrome/Edge/Firefox): stored via the browser’s extension storage (e.g., chrome.storage, browser.storage).

These settings are used only to provide and remember your customized start page.

Sync

If you enable your browser’s built-in syncing, your settings may sync between your own devices via the browser vendor’s services (e.g., Chrome Sync, Firefox Sync, Microsoft account sync). Linkofy does not receive or control that data; it is managed by your browser provider under their policies.

Permissions (Extensions)

Linkofy requests only the minimum permissions needed for core features. Typical permissions include:

  • storage – to save your layout and preferences.
  • Optional (only if used): tabs, bookmarks, topSites, or limited host access to user-specified URLs for previews/embeds.

If you don’t use any optional capabilities, we don’t request those permissions. If added in the future, we’ll update this policy and the extension listing with a clear justification.

Data Sharing

  • We do not send your settings or content to our servers.
  • We do not share data with third parties.
  • We do not use analytics or advertising trackers.

Contact

For questions, use the store listing’s “Contact the developer” link or open an issue in the project repository (if applicable).
